September the 1st?! I cannot believe how fast this year has gone. As it’s moving towards the Autumn season I decided to go for more rustic fall colours. This crop is one of the cutest tops I own. The detail on it is perfect and makes it look really special. It’s a great top to add to a plain outfit take it to a whole new level. I am lucky enough to know the designer and I’m even more lucky to be able to call her my friend.
Catriona Rose Clothing is all designed by my friend Cat and since starting her clothing line a couple of years ago she has gone from strength to strength and has since appeared in Look magazine, a Cosmopolitan editorial and Harpars Bazaar amongst many more.
After adapting scarves into backless dresses she had a few requests from friends to make the same for them. After receiving so many compliments she saw a gap in the market and got to work. Her first collection mostly consisted of backless embellished dresses. She then went on to design men’s vests, charity t-shirts, embellished dresses, crops tops (as worn here) and even jewellery.
This detailing on this top is beautiful. It makes it so delicate looking and looks amazing whether paired up with tough ripped jeans like I have gone for here or denim cut offs or even a floaty skater skirt. These tops look great with almost anything. Disco pants are another great option for more of a night time look.
I am a real fan of anything embellished. I love everything about the 20’s fashion and any kind of beading and embellishment reminds me of this period. Beaded tops are a favourite of mine and I’m a sucker for beaded jackets. My bank balance soon plummets when I start browsing eBay for vintage embellished jackets.
I have this top in bright orange which is the ultimate summer colour. It shows off a tan nicely and goes well with blonde hair. I love the cream version too and would love to snap a couple more colours up as they are just adorable.
