Hair Dye: La Riche Directions – Lilac (top) // La Riche Directions – Violet (bottom)
Since I have gone purple/lilac I have had a few requests and comments on how I did it and if I could blog it, so here you go! I will try my best to explain exactly how I achieved my colour but please bear in mind I am no expert, I have used trial and error but also done lots of research to get to the colour I want. I have a brilliant hairdresser that does the best job and totally saved me when I had a huge hair nightmare in early 2014. My hair has changed quite a bit since then – it went from down past my belly button to above my shoulders and from dark (I had to do this unfortunately due to the hair disaster I had) to a dirty blonde and gradually back to bright ashy blonde. If you want to learn about how I did my hair and got it this fab purple/lilac shade then click read more below.
I am a massive fan of Tigi Catwalk and Tigi BedHead products, when I got the chance to try something from the lovelies at Just My Look I jumped at it when I saw the Tigi Catwalk duos available. I thought that this oatmeal & honey shampoo and conditoner sounded so nice and when it arrived I was definitely not wrong. It is so heavenly and I actually enjoy hair wash days as this fills the bathroom with the most amazing smell during washing (is this really sad?! Please tell me you guys get just as excited about beauty products that smell out of this world?).
After going through a colour nightmare last year I unfortunately had to go an all over dark colour to fix the mess and have my healthy previously uncoloured long locks chopped off, it was traumatic to say the least. A year down the line and it is getting there on the growing front and is finally the bright blonde colour I want it to be thanks to an awesome hairdresser. I have had a couple of big chops last year and again this Jan/Feb (they were much needed after what my hair had been through) but now I am back to small trims as I want it back to it’s original long length again. It also has bleach in it now as I love it to be an ashy blonde which means I need to be extra careful with how I treat it. I got the chance to try out some amazing TIGI products thanks to the lovely people at ASOS (thank you Lindsey!). I am 100% sold on these products! They have made a world of difference to my hair after such a short amount of use.
I am, as you most probably already know nail art mad. I change my designs so often and I love experimenting and trying out new designs I’ve seen. If you follow me on instagram (@gillianleerose) you will see my designs as I do them but for those of you that don’t have it I thought I would share a few of my latest nail art creations as I haven’t done a nail related post in months!
I love daisy print on absolutely everything. It is such a cute print whether it’s on clothes, shoes or accessories. You see it come around Spring after Spring and people, including myself, just can’t get enough. I decided to take my love affair with daisies into my own hands and attempted adaisy print nail design. I fell in love with the end result.
I love a simple nail art design that you can sit down to do and 15 minutes later, you can walk away with fabulous looking nails! Polka dot nails, probably the easiest of all the designs to do and they always look so eye catching and cute. I often plan on doing detailed intricate new designs that I come up with but end up just doing polka dot as I love it so much.

I sat down to do my nails at the weekend and but I took a lifetime to decide on what I wanted. I actually started off doing galaxy nails as they always look so good and are actually unbelievably quick and easy to do. However, being the indecisive Pisces that I am I changed my mind after doing one hand and fancied something a bit brighter and more in line with Spring (even though it’s very un-Spring-like outside right now!)

I was doodling the other day and ended up at this paisley design. I apologise for the pink that’s gone astray onto my skin I was just having a little artistic sesh on my 10 mini blank canvases and ended up liking the design so much I decided to post it. Read More »
