As you will have heard me say many, many times before…..everyone needs at least 1 breton stripe top in their wardrobe life! They are such a staple item (hence the title) and can be worked into almost any outfit. They can be worn for a casual look like I have opted here as I was just out to do a bit of shopping and a few jobs that needed doing, they can be made to look slightly more dressy by swapping the blue jeans for black rip knee jeans and the kicks for chelsea boots (you can see this look on my Instagram). These tops go with denim cut offs and flip flops in the summer months for a laid back vibe or tucked into a high waist skirt, whether its skater style and worn with ankle boots for a cute girly twist or a leather pencil skirt and some heels for an office to bar ensemble. The possibilities are endless!

I have a few varieties of striped tops and this long sleeve one is my latest to my ever growing collection. My favourite Breton stripe t-shirt from Topshop is starting to get a little worn now and I am having trouble finding another the same. It’s a nice boxy slightly oversized fit and longer than average sleeves which I turn up once or twice. I will keep hunting for a replacement so if you guys spot any then let me know!

The jeans are my uber comfy Jamie jeans in the light version and you cannot beat a pair of Superga kicks. I have all bases covered with the 3 colours I own; navy, burgundy and go-with-anything-grey. I might snap up a white pair soon for an alternaitve to my converse as I quite like the all over white look with certain outfits. They are so comfy amazing quality too which is so important. I added this white and light blue gem necklace to add a feminine touch to it and I had died the ends of my hair a subtle baby pink which was a fun little change for a while. After this I went over the ends in my favourite colour for the tips – lilac. I am probably going to take the plunge and go grey soon which I have been talking about for so long but I think it would be perfect for winter in the cold weather. A bright white/ashy blonde is much better suited to summer. If the grey happens then you guys will be the first to know – keep an eye on my Instagram and you will see if I end up going for it or bottling it….or not bottling it as the case may be! (excuse the pun).
