The Backless LBD

An LBD is a much needed wardrobe staple for every girl, whether it’s a day time casual look or a lot more dressy like this little number; it’s something that every girl should have a few of in various styles to always turn to in their time of need. This was an absolute bargain busting £10 from Boohoo (via ASOS). It was a super last minute purchase when I saw how cheap it was so I just went for a 10 to be safe as I wasn’t sure of the sizing. Really I needed an 8 but had no time to exchange before I left the country so I just rolled with it. It is a bit on the big side but not so much that it’s unwearable. I love the wide set neck line, it’s a really flattering cut.

The backless detailing of it means the dress does all the talking so there is no real need for many accessories. I stuck to just my gold two coin necklace as the front would look a little plain with nothing there. You definitely don’t need some big statement necklace though as it would be too much going on. The only other accessories I wore was my chunky boyfriend watch and a few thin gold ring. I added my petal t-bar sandals and a white bag to keep it all super simple and chid. This dress would work with hair up or down too, hair up would show off the neckline nicely but even with your hair down you still have the back of the dress for the wow factor. I absolutely love love love backless pieces of any kind as they always look fab whether it’s a top with jeans and heels for a more simple night out look or a really dressy outfit like here. There is something about a backless piece that is always very eye catching. I finished it all off with my usual fail safe….a pink lip! I had blue nails which stood out nicely against the black too.
