I spotted this gorgeous pastel yellow skirt a while back online but for some reason I didn’t ‘add to basket’ and checkout before I had time to think about it let alone regret it, very unlike me I know! So when I spotted it in the sale online and still available in my size in my local store using the check instore feature I soon got on the phone and my friend was on her way to the store to very kindly pick it up for me (she works nearby…I’m not some slave driver, thanks Sj!). I actually never usually go for yellow at all because I think yellow and blonde is too much but I just loved the mesh detail and with it being a skirt it isn’t right next to my hair so it wouldn’t clash.
I tried a couple of black tops on but it was way too ‘bumble bee-esque’ so after a couple of white and cream cami tops which didn’t quite look right I thought to go for a casual top half with my trusty ASOS boyfriend tee (my absolute fail safe). It balanced it out nicely and dressed it down slightly as I wasn’t off out anywhere too special just a couple of drinks with friends. I love a skirt and baggy tee combo, it’s always a really laid back off duty vibe which is my style the majority of the time.
I added a white bag to go with the top and my airport purchase, the Accessorize sandals I’ve been meaning to buy for about the last 4 summers. I finally managed to get them in my size for this trip and good job because I live in them now! I went for a contrasted dusky purple/berry lip and added my Sarah Chloe ‘G’ necklace. I love the skirt and although I won’t get much use out of it now as summer is coming to an end, I will definitely be getting it back out again to wear next year, wherever I may end up. It is 100% going to be a sunny climate because I am now certain of the fact that I am just not made to live in England full time.
