Last Thursday I attended a star studded event at the beautiful Somerset House for the F+F Autumn/Winter ’14 show. I went along with two friends Sarah and Mollie who are also bloggers (check them out). We made our way across the cobbles towards the huge markee that the show would take place in.

We were greeted with champagne and canapés as we milled and mingled with the fashion worlds press and VIPs. There was a red carpet and photographers at the ready for the impending arrival of celebrities such as Millie Mackintosh, her hubby Professer Green, Tynchy Stryder, Sophie Ellis Bextor, Peaches Geldof, Amy Willerton, TOWIE’s Lucy Mecklenburgh, Sam & Billie Faiers and super blogger Bip Ling to name but a few!

The buzz in the tent was amazing. Everyone was chatting/networking and at the atmosphere was on another level. The doors opened and we made our way into the show space to take our seats. We got great seats in the middle section in the 3rd row so we were very happy bloggers indeed.

The lights dimmed and the music got louder as the curtains on the catwalk opened to revealed the model who was to open the show. I was highly impressed with the entire collection which explored textures, rich colours and dropped hems for A/W.

There was plenty of layering of coats, sweaters, skirts and trousers in mixed fabrics to break it up. The collection also had the most beautiful embellish adorned pieces from camis to all over embellished dresses.

It was all very Downton drama meets Sex And The City Chic. The colour pallet was mainly black and grey with dark berry shades and metallics mixed in. A hint of 90’s goth showed through in the sheer black separates which were mixed with heavier pieces.

There was also a lot of fur (faux) to be seen as the models wore fur stoles wrapped around their necks and the most amazing pastel coral blush faux fur coat in both long and cropped lengths. Another of my favourite pieces was the boxy cropped metallic jacket with the shoulders decorated in beautiful black feathers which created a cape effect over the jacket. Another favourite of the night was the simple black slip cami dress with criss-cross. Simple elegance at it’s best.

I was blown away with the amazing pieces and can’t wait for the collection to drop instore and online so I can snap up some of the items for my A/W wardrobe.

I want to say a huge thank you to F+F and Maverick PR for an invite to the amazing event!
