As it’s Valentines Day today I thought I would share with you all my afternoon at the Ultimo Valentines Day event where I was lucky enough to meet the gorgeous Abbey Clancy. As you may have read in my previous Ultimo review post, Abbey Clancy is the new face and body of Ultimo lingerie. She was at the Debenhams press suite after doing an in store signing to answer a few questions about her latest campaign.

Dressed in an elegant pussybow blouse and leather pencil skirt complete with a burgundy pair of sky high Louboutins, she looked every inch the glamourous model that she is. She chatted away to us answering questions but not before trying out one of the yummy mini red velvet cup cakes on offer. She was completely down to earth and just so bubbly and friendly, everything you look for when trying to find the face of your brand. Ultimo have hit just about every nail on the head when they picked Abbey. Not only is she gorgeous, stunning and has one hell of a body she is also just a normal girl who is a loving mother and wife.

I asked what her favourite piece from the new Ultimo collection was and she revealed it was the beautiful lace detail Hallie set because it’s comfortable and sexy at the same time. She told us how she was obsessed with underwear and she has an ever growing lingerie and swimwear collection.She also told us that she never wears a non matching set because she automatically feels sexier and more confident when wearing one.

When asked about her favourite brands she told us her favourite high street haunts were Zara (her absolute fave) and The Kooples. When going for high end she loves Alessandra Rich, Giles, J Brand and Frame. Her day to day staple look is jeans, vest and a blazer, she said ‘Burberry always do a good blazer.’ She also said even though she has tonnes of clothes she always turns to her fail safe outfit (every girl has one) consisting of her leather trousers, a black vest and a pair of trusty ankle boots. When asked who was her biggest inspiration she very sweetly told us it is her mum. She said she is strong, raised 4 children, she looks fantastic and is a good person. Her biggest fashion inspiration is Brigitte Bardot. She told us that she has had a sneaky peak at the AW collection and she can’t wait to get shooting it at the end of April. She gave us a little insider info saying there were a lot of prints including leopard which was her favourite.

After a little chat with Abbey we browsed the collection and I am definitely lusting after it all. The Va Va Voom set which I was kindly sent by Ultimo is gorgeous and probably my firm favourite of the new collection but there is also some really cute lace detail demi bra sets that are sure to get the heart racing. One bra in particular caught my eye. It was cream with very subtle silk fold effect to the cups and very delicate eyelash detailing around the bottom of the bra. It was my favourite piece of the day and the silk effect adds a real luxe feel to it.

We got chatting to some of the Ultimo team and they told us all about the new and improved fit of the pieces. They have changed the production of the bras and instead of having separate gel inserts inside, the gel is now injected into the padding of the bra. This improves the fit and feel aswell as reducing the weight of the bra overall. They have done an incredible job on all the pieces available now and they only seem to be getting better and better.

It was a great day and I am loving all the pieces in the collection and getting to meet and chat to Abbey Clancy about her new role as the face of Ultimo was very insightful.
