I went for a date night meal with my boyfriend to an amazing bistro. It was the first time he had been there and I knew how good it was as a frequent visitor so I was very much looking forward to it. I decided to go more casual than smart as it was just a week night.

This top was a little eBay purchase I scored a year ago. It’s actually a size 16 top but when I saw the all over beading I was more than determined to win it. The colour is a gorgeous cream colour too which complements so many other shades making it so easy to style.

The top is a shift shape so when hanging loose it is rather unflattering due to its larger size too. if it was slightly longer it would be the most adorable dress, it would be perfect for a petite person but as I am 5,6″ it is just that little bit too short to wear as a dress. I decided to gather it up and tie a knot to one size to shorten the length and pull it in slightly. The arms are a beautiful sheer material enabling the gorgeous beading to be on show. The middle section is fully lined so you don’t have to wear anything underneath it.

I wore some skinny jeans and flats as I wasn’t dressing up too much and the beading alone is quite dressy so I kept everything else minimal. I kept it casual by wearing my favourite A/W jacket, my oversized boyfriend blazer. The masculine feel of the jacket balanced out the girly top and shoes perfectly making it a winning combination. I love mixing girly pieces with tailored masculine elements, I think it works really well together.

I finished off the look with a blush pink clutch with gold metal corner detailing and my boyfriend watch. I kept my hair simple so as to show off the top and to keep it casual. I went for simple non fussy make-up with a berry lip, which is one of my favourite Winter shades.
