Jacket: River Island
I had been eyeing up this gorgeous Moroccan inspired jacket for a while now and I was on the fence about whether to get it as I wasn’t sure how much wear I would get out of it because I seem to have bought about a hundred new ‘light jackets’ lately. Then the gods must have been on my side as it went down to £20 in the sale and it was soon being packaged up and sent on it’s way to live happily ever in my wardrobe with it’s other little jacket friends.
I love the sky/cloud like print all over and the light go-with-everything colours in the jacket. The detailing on the front is a mix of embroidery and little mirrored discs which really give it a funky edge. It’s cropped boxy cut is a perfect fit and I like wearing it with a really plain top underneath to let the jacket do all the talking.
I wore mine with a plain white cross strap back tank, some denim cut offs and simple white plait sandals. I wanted the jacket to be the main focus so I only went with my watch and necklace to accessorise. Levis really do have the best selection of denim shorts as they do just about every cut and shade of denim imaginable, meaning you can pick the exact pair you have in mind. I got mine via ASOS but you can buy them from so many places now they are fairly easy to get hold of.
The jacket is lightweight enough to wear out and keep it on all night as part of your outfit rather than an over garment that you take off as soon as you are inside somewhere. I wore a simple bar necklace as I felt a bit empty without any jewellery on but with the detailing on the front you need to keep accessories, especially necklaces minimal. I rolled the sleeves up just once as I just prefer jacket sleeves cropped as for me it adds a slight casual edge rather than leaving them full length. This jacket looks really nice with jeans and a plain vest top or boyfriend tee for a more relaxed feel. I am so glad I ended up getting this and even more glad I hung on a while as I ended up getting it for such a good price. I can’t wait to get lots of wear out of this, it’s a jacket that will go with so much of my wardrobe that I’m sure you will see it on here many more times in the future.
