Top: ASOS // Skirt: River Island // Belt: Primark
Shoes: New Look
I have had this skirt for 3 years now and do you how many times I’ve worn it?…….zero. I am 100% guilty when it comes to buying things and then leaving them sitting in my wardrobe with the tags still attached for weeks, months or in this case years.
I adored this skirt when I first saw it and everything about it. The colour of the base is a beautiful bright colour block mix of pink and coral. The leopard print that peeps through is not too in your face either, it just adds a twist to the outfit. I wanted an outfit to wear that I could just add heels to after I’d finished work and head out for a few drinks. I’d wanted to wear this cute little crop for a while and this skirt sprung to mind as the perfect accompaniment.
The high waist helps to not make the outfit so revealing, by sitting above my belly button I only show off a couple of inches of skin otherwise known as the midriff. The length of the skirt is slightly longer than your average bandage skirt but shorter than a midi. It’s a good compromise if like me,your not a huge fan of midi length skirts and dresses.
I found the top whilst aimlessly browsing the new in at ASOS section and this little thing jumped out at me. Not very expensive at all and super cute equaled an ‘add to basket’ in both black and white within milliseconds. I thought these would be two handy little extras to wear with my many a high waisted shorts and skirts. I also liked the idea of wearing them under an open denim shirt with a pair of either disco pants or higher waist jeans to keep the look on the right side of girly and not too casual, as sometimes oversized denim shirts can stray towards scruffy.
I kept the footwear simple with just a plain black sandal for work and switched to a black peep toe block heel sandal for later on.
My lipstick is my much raved about Rouge Caresse by L’Oreal in 202. These lipsticks are wonderful because the heat and weather in general here throughout the summer really dries my lips out. I find that matte lipsticks give great colour but they really show every little flaw on your lips and matte colour + dry cracked lips = fashion faux pas. The Rouge Caresse lip colors give full coverage with a soft smooth application that leaves your lips feeling and looking in a much better condition. I save my matte lipsticks for Saturday nights out when I want a dramatic bright lip and long lasting colour.
