C/O Gandys in ‘Miami Pink‘ £19.99
I was recently contacted by the lovely people at Gandys HQ and asked if I would like to try out a pair of the brilliantly named Gandys flip flops (I can’t believe someone didn’t think of the name for a flip flop brand sooner). I read the story of how Gandys came about and was so touched by it.
For those of you who don’t know…..
The two brothers Rob and Paul who have started Gandys had the most interesting and amazing upbringing. Their parents took them out of school and decided to go travelling and see the world and its many cultures. The brothers and their family were in Sri Lanka when the Boxing Day
tsunami tragically took their parents lives. A short while later while at a festival Rob woke up with a mouth like ‘Ghandi’s flip flop’. That’s when the idea struck and Gandys was born.
The two brothers wanted to use their own experiences to help other orphans around the world. As travelling was very close to their heart and they had spent many years wandering the world in flip flops, they figured that was the obvious choice.
Gandys come in a wonderful array of colours with funky names of different places for each colour. 10% of every pair sold goes directly to help orphans in other countries with the ‘orphans for orphans’ campaign. Their aim is to eventually build their own orphanage in 2014 marking the ten year anniversary of the tsunami that turned their world upside down.
Eventually the brothers would like to continue to grow and raise as much money and awareness for orphans worldwide and expand their own orphanages to as many countries as possible.
The flip flops come in a few variations. Women’s are available in sizes 3/4, 5/6 and 7/8 you can pick from a huge range of colours from PhiPhi Pink to Goa Green to Bondi Blue. There are some with a different colour toe strap to the main base like my Miami Pink ones or you can get a plain all over colour with contrasting writing. The Men’s come in sizes 7/8, 9/10 and 11/12 you can view all the colour options and purchase them here.
They are currently offering buy 2 get 1 free. For the amazing price of only £19.99 not only are you helping Rob and Paul achieve their dreams and goals, you are also helping orphans worldwide and to top it off you will be in possession of one seriously cool pair of flip flops!
Become a brand ambassador and you could win a golden passport to go along to the opening of the first orphanage and be part of the amazing story.
They are so comfortable and I will most definitely be getting lots of wear out of these. The sole is thick which is great for all sorts of surfaces. They feel really sturdy and strong. The plaited detail on the toe post is something different that you don’t see so often. Each pair also has the Gandys passport stamp embedded in the sole featuring the brands logo. The reason for this was to show you are part of the Gandys journey by walking in their shoes and helping others all over the world. They haven’t left my feet since I got them. I am already picking which colours I want to get next, and starting my own little Gandys collection.
I have 1 pair of brand new and boxed size 7 Miami Pink Gandys (like the ones pictured in this post) to give away to one lucky person. It’s a competition that can be entered through Instagram and Twitter only.
